Alfred Is So in Love

We have been told to love our colleagues, love our customers, and love our users, and they will love us back. It is so true and we have never understated how much we love Alfredians.

There are happy times when we feel so warm and fuzzy inside, especially when an Alfredian tells us how Alfred has contributed to keeping him strong when his wife needs care, keeping him relaxed when he is away from home, or keeping her happy when Alfred captures the first flip of her baby. We feel so giddy and drunk on love. However, like a real relationship, it is not always a bed of roses.

About a month ago, we received a one-star negative review on Google Play store from a disappointed Alfredian about howt Alfred has been slow and laggy after the last update. We were equally disappointed, if not more, that Alfred didn’t perform at his best. One of the founders, the lead developer, was more distressed about the fact that we could not solve the problem for him as there was not enough clue. The user commented that he has been using Alfred since build 400. That was about early 2014. That means we let down an user who has been supporting us since early 2014. We immediately replied and ask for more information.

When a relationship is scarred and when direct conversation seems unlikely, it appears that we should not take the only opportunity to communicate to eagerly tell him what we need. It is more important to listen to what he needs. If we rely on Alfred to stay connected with my loved ones, of course the user would feel bad if Alfred gets slow and laggy.

As we calmed ourselves down and tried to put ourselves in his shoes, an angel showed up to save the day. She is not merely an Alfredian. She is our Lady of Justice.

The best so far in its class of apps. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Works like a charm on all my Galaxy Notes ~ phone & Tablets . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . To be such a wonderful simple to use, easy to set up app, I can’t believe one would complain that the motion detection is ‘slow and laggy’ on their older version phone. The sensitivity of motion can be set. Plus you have to factor in where you put your devices. My house is older and when on the second story, I can sometimes feel when my animals walk around in the other rooms, or when the wind outside is really bad. I just can’t comprehend how someone can complain, giving a 1star over a free app because it’s lagging and slow. I could agree if it interfered with the other functions of the device, making it unstable. But then again it’s a free app, just stop bitching and uninstall it, as well as letting others know what devices you’re using if you plan to leave feedback.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐just sayin❕❕

We can never be grateful enough to My Lady of Justice. Her kind words restored and boosted our morale. We have never felt so loved and supported by someone we have never met. It is a miracle that we are developing an app for people we would otherwise never know so that they can keep their properties safe and keep their families closer.

Three weeks later, the world showed us that the greatest thing you will ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. Alfred got five stars from the previously unhappy user!

Revised review. I’ve decided to redact my previous review. It was fueled by a lot of frustration at the time and uncharacteristically harsh. For free? No one should complain.honestly FOR WHAT THIS APP IS, YOURE NOT GOING TO FIND A BETTER FREE APP LIKE THIS. ITS DEFINETLY WORTH THE DOWNLOAD. KUDOS to the dev as he/she seems highly dedicated to continually improve the app as well as REALLY valuing end user concerns. lagging issue is still present, but I’m starting to suspect its a hardware issue. Camera=Samsung Admire=pain

Lesson learned? We decided to publish a list of Android devices that work the best with Alfred and a list of devices that may fail easily. Do you think it’s a good idea? Let us know!
